I need to find a temp agency so that I can work without discrimination towards education. Every job I have tried to get in Fresno has turned me down because I am either going to school or I have to work one weekend a month for the California Army National Guard.

Cal State Fullerton, no question. Their PR department is one of the best around, very well known and awarded. I believe the marketing major is a combined effort from their College of Communications and their respected College of Business. Location is another big issue, CSUF (the real one: Fullerton) is in the heart of the Southern California media market - home to many major ad agencies (for internships, jobs and connections). Also a short drive - depending on traffic - from the beach, Downtown LA and Hollywood. Fullerton is a much larger school (by around 10,000 students), but largely a commuter school.

Fresno State! It has one of THE BEST business programs. Also, students tak a lot of pride in the school and it's just a great school over all. You should talk to the councelors in both schools though to see why their school is better for you.

I have an interview with the hospital Nursing Department with the manager on tuesday, and the place i applied at is called "Long-term Care and Other Inpatient Centers" in Fresno California.. I wanted to know what is work life is like as a Nurse Assistant there or any place that have a similar unit. I only have five months experience with nursing homes but not hospital long term care unit. Can someone help me ?

Mary Ann Riojas, a disabled JW is in need of a more habitable home in Fresno. She is wheelchair bound and has no wheelchair access to her home. This amazing woman was born with no legs, one short arm and one normal arm. Of course when one of Jehovah's people is in need the congregation LEAPS into action to help them. Nope, not in this case. Thank Jehovah for Extreme Home Makeover! Ty Pennington and his crew of volunteers are doing what the watchtower is either unable to do or is unwilling to do. Did I just say a family of Jehovah's Witnesses is going to be helped by a bunch of perverted, homosexual, murdering, sex-loving, worldly people. Not in my words, but I can hear the jw's saying these exact words. How could the WT allow this to happen? Why is the WT so freaking cheap when it comes to helping people? Do you think this will make a good witness and glorify Jehovah's name, or will it drive another nail into the WT's coffin? First I have to say that I am glad that someone is helping this woman. She was the 2005 Easter Seals national poster child! I am sure she has a legitimate need and that she is a devout person. Jah is blessing her outside of the polluted and apostate Watchtower Society. I praise Jah for everything He does! I am saddened to hear that her congregation is so lame! I know! Maybe one of them called Ty!! I think I will write Ty an email and send him some videos of the JWs making a quick-build KH. Then I will send one to Fox News and ABC to let them know how much money that the society has but never gives to the poor. Another nail for the wt? Indeed. When I get done with this story, they won't know what to do but to go scramble for the mattresses....LOL

I love Ty! He has more love in his heart than the whole Jws worldwide! (Plus he gets paid a lot more) that aside someone should show some love to this woman. If the JWs actually followed Jesus' example they would too. With regard to the whole "Jws being cheap when it comes to helping people" don't you know they've got to save their cash for the child abuse pay offs? They aren't cheap......

Wow, that is so cool! At least he is always helping people in need unlike the JW's. I love Extreme Home Makeover~ My mom is in a wheelchair too, and the JW's would give her a hard time just to pick her up and help her get to the meetings, not like she asked them to rebuild her house, just to help her get to meetings and they would complain about it.

Extreme Makeover, Home Edition is one of my favorite shows. There's not one that passes that doesn't make me cry. Yes, it's a commercial undertaking and the builders and suppliers get advertising in exchange for what they contribute. But still... This is an example of a community coming together without prejudice. It's the beauty of humanity as it's meant to be, unfettered by artificial divisions. Ty, you rock! And ABC! And Sears! And the rest! Edit: I should mention, though, that when I was a JW, one congregation set up a rotation to pick up and drive a wheelchair bound sister to the kingdom hall. Her house didn't need alteration. So we'd sign up and take turns. Congregations differ, though. The fact that the Fresno sister has been struggled in that house for the past three years is pretty amazing. If you go to the link and read the newspaper article, it says there were other nominees for Extreme Makeover to pick from, but they chose because it was SO OBVIOUS that she had the greatest need!

you can legally start working at 14 but its almost impossible to get a job a 14. i think you have to have a 2.0 or 3.0 GPA to get a work permit. really the only place you can get hired under 17 is in fast food or at a cloths store in the mall. i got luck and got a job as a heavy equipment mechanic and a pilot truck driver and im only 17. the people that own the company don't know anything about child labor laws so i get to drive around all day and get paid for it. happy job hunting :)

It's a good job, and it will pay me more then I have ever made at any other job. My question is to anyone who works in Avenal, how is the commute? Is it long? Would I be better off living closer to Avenal or just commuting from Fresno each day? It's a fulltime job, a permanent position.

Based on some proprietary data that I have at work, I checked a route from Pizza Pit, 2705 N Blackstone Ave, Fresno, CA 93703 (559) 225-9900 to and from Andrea's Pizza, 223 E Kings St, Avenal, CA 93204 (559) 386-5678. The best route is the CA-41 to Avenal Cutoff Road to Skyline Boulevard – 63.2 miles that would take 1 hour and 11 minutes if uncongested to Avenal and 1 hour and 16 minutes from Avenal. Overall, not too bad for California as it is a reverse commute and if you can put up with the ride and have a good car why bother with the expense and hassle of moving. If that does not work for you, move closer to Avenal. In the 7 AM hour, the travel time will be: 1 hour and 12 minutes on Monday; 1 hour and 17 minutes on Tuesday; 1 hour and 19 minutes on Wednesday; 1 hour and 18 minutes on Thursday; 1 hour and 20 minutes on Friday; 1 hour and 19 minutes on Saturday; and 1 hour and 15 minutes on Sunday. In the 5 PM hour, the travel time will be: 1 hour and 18 minutes every day except Sunday when it would be 1 hour and 17 minutes. Of course, the travel times assume that there are not any crashes or incidents along your route – hard to know in advance when those will happen. I live in Fresno California, I work in the morning and go to school at night. This semester I took a couple of on-line classes. I have a computer but I can not afford to pay for wireless internet and dial-up is a nightmare. Every where I go I have to pay for it for example coffee shops. It should be FREE lol..

I am trying to send my brother money at Fresno County jail how do I do this?
My brother was arrested about two weeks ago, Even though I am upset with him I know he needs money for soap and other necessities, but I have no idea how to send him money. I try doing it by www.jpay.com but it doesn't work in Fresno County. Is there any website i can do this at or where can I do this I know I can do it online but i cant seem to find it. Please help!

Unless you can find a connection within your family you may be out of luck. Check with your local grocery stores, normally they start hiring the earliest. Honestly, I'd try doing landscaping for neighbors and get paid under the table. Im 12 years old and my b-day is in like a month so i WILL be 13 soo but anywase does anybody know how old you have to be to throw papers to peoples houses and stuff? u know like riding a bike and all that. i really need the money so reply please!

The good old "paper boy" days are dead and buried, I'm afraid. These days, the papers that do home delivery use contractors to deliver them, and you need a driver's license to do that. Sorry.

How does the waiting list at fresno city college work?
I am currently enrolled to take two classes over the summer at Fresno City College, both in which I am on the waiting list. This is my first time being on the "waiting list" and because I am still a high school student, I am not sure how it works or what I have to do. If anyone could explain this process to me I would greatly appreciate it! p.s. ASAP is appreciated; classes start the 29th!
